You’ve steped away from that desk to employ yourself with full-time mince pie munching and booze sipping festivities. HORRAY. This is the best job ever.
But if you’re going to do a job you may as well do it well – right?
Wray and Nephew Overproof Rum have come up with another yule-tide recipe. Sing it as a carol to your next door neighbour or recite it at midnight mass – just make sure the people of your home towns are getting this fine blend down their gullets.
The recipe for the Spiced Cyder goes something like this:
Ingredients (serves 5ish)
125ml Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum
75ml Grand Marnier
100ml Lemon Juice
10 level Teaspoons caster sugar or 100ml Sugar syrup
300ml Cloudy Apple Juice
300ml Good quality sparkling Cyder (E.G. Wyld Wood)
100ml Still mineral water
0.5g Cinnamon powder
1 Star Anise
10 dashes of Angostura Orange Bitters
Splash all ingredients in a pan and put on a low heat, gently stirring. As steam begins to rise off the mix ladle into cups and serve while hot!
To finish garnish with a cinnamon stick & lemon twist.
