Whitechapel Gallery‘s autumn exhibition sees the gallery celebrating the art of the North West of England. Sourced from public collections all over the region, the show also includes work from the Pre-Raphaelites and Lowry.
The show is co-presented by the Contemporary Art Society, a national organisation that supports and protects publicly-funded museums and galleries across the UK, through gifts, advocacy and advice. The displays are shown in the dedicated Collections Gallery and are part of the gallery’s on-going programme of opening up public and private collections.
The title of the exhibition stems from an inscription on the famed Manchester Art Gallery, built in 1824 by Charles Barry. So, get your northern spirit up and venture east for this one…
