VELSVOIR: “A luxury accessory compliments any attire, it is an expression of attitude”

Sharpen up your look this season with Velsvoir accessories! This stunning brand is the passion project of two brothers, started with just one tweet in 2012 which grew a rapid presence in London and Dubai within a matter of weeks. Catering for a style conscious clientele, the brand was adopted by numerous influencers, entrepreneurs, musicians, sportsmen and your man and woman about town.

Their luxury accessories are handmade in London, crafted with an emerald eye for detail, embodying the heritage of independent design. Having shown at London Fashion Week (S/S13, A/W13), London Collections: Men (S/S14, A/W14, S/S15) and Dubai Fashion Forward (A/W14), Velsvoir have forayed into a range of products beyond the bow tie.

They have advanced their services, including Velsvoir Noir, a bespoke service for private clients and Velsvoir Verte, a sustainable division focusing on ethical design and production.

Teaming up with world renowned Sketch, the eccentric art-cum-style inspired restaurant and bar in Mayfair was the mark of Velsvoir’s first commercial collaboration. As an artist-conceived restaurant the redesign of the Gallery by Turner Prize winner Martin Creed presented a space where every piece of furniture, cutlery and crockery to be entirely different. Velsvoir designed bespoke accessories (bow ties, triptych ties, neck ties and pocket squares) for each individual member of staff reflecting the personalities and the mix of classic and contemporary designs. The collection involved an array of colours and patterns with a diverse fabric selection including leather, corduroy and foil for the Gallery, Parlour and Glade rooms.

Velsvoir also collaborated with the historic Oscar Wilde Bar in curating a collection in keeping with the grandeur surroundings and rich heritage of the Cafe Royal Hotel.Originally established in 1865, it is a space where great minds came together to change the world including Lord Alfred Douglas, The Beatles, Princess Diana and indeed Oscar Wilde. With Louis XVI detailing and gold leafing, Velsvoir echoed the grand aesthetic of the room in creating luxury bespoke monochrome lapel braces and bowties for the gentleman and a touch a vintage red cummerbunds and jewelled bow ties for the ladies, bringing the design into the modern era.

Most recently they were appointed creative and style directors by Conde Nast International for the full design and styling of the staff uniforms at GQ Bar Dubai in the world’s tallest hotel, the JW Marriot Marquis. The collection reflected the elegant and debonair GQ style with Velsvoir designing bespoke menswear and sophisticated womenswear within a black, white and redcurrant colour theme. Management dressed decidedly dapper in peak lapel suits, cutaway penny collars and handmade neckties with bar staff in classic black waistcoats and bow ties.
