This December Luc Waring presents one week TRUMPED exhibition (2-8th Dec) in Marylebone inspired by the recent election of Donald Trump in the US.
Containing imagery from the 90s to the present day, this exhibition is made up of around 10 paintings from the style of Pop Art to European Modern Painting. The idea is a reaction to the recent election. The exhibition is simply a mirror of whats going on in a way, Luc has no specific judgment. Its a very exciting show and some pieces are provocative!
Its quick, creative and fun work! The works range from Newspapers from 1999 where they joke about Trump being president, to a still life with a army tank in the corner, as a foreboding hint. The exhibition is of course, very current and will be a lot of fun!
In his London studio, Luc works with layers of paint and mixed-media on canvas as an expression of pure energy and human spirituality. Images from advertising and archive photography are incorporated into his finely-crafted print works, leaving neither a celebratory nor critical study of the original images representing fashion, consumerism and politics. Instead, his art seeks to show the viewer what is, in fact, always on show around them.
Luc had his first solo exhibition in Marylebone at the age of 19, proceeding to exhibit in Los Angeles, New York and London. He has also learned his practice on the job, collaborating with Danish artist Kristian Hornsleth, London-based street artist Inkie, and graffiti artist Maximilian Wiedemann. He is a young artist, with experience and experimentation under his belt, ready to make his mark on the world wide art scene.
