THE GREATEST SNOWMAN: All aboard the Arctic Express for a wacky and wonderful festive ride

If the thought of a standard Christmas dinner bores you slightly, then head on down to London’s Pedley Street Station.

There, thanks to Funicular Productions’ latest offering The Greatest Snowman, you’ll board a train and get whisked away on a festive journey to remember.

The production company is pioneering a new form of immersive dining in the city, and like the other productions I’ve seen, its newest number promises to please.

I don’t want to give too much away, but on board the Arctic Express you’ll embark on a ride peppered with laughter, lots of Christmas spirit and a range of high jinks from the ever-energetic cast.

One thing I can reveal, is that a colourful plot unfolds while you tuck into a delicious four-course feast prepared by Masterchef finalist Louisa Ellis.

To tickle the palate, I sipped up a large spoonful of caramelised cauliflower velouté.

This was followed by a flavourful starter, featuring varieties of Jerusalem artichoke, and then a hearty wedge of mushroom wellington for main.

I opted for the vegetarian menu, but my fellow diners said the three bird roast was equally delicious with parsnip puree and a potato rosti rounding out things.

To finish, we all tucked into a moreish bowl of poached pear and salted caramel ice cream.

As the show came to an end and the cast took their final bow, we were directed to the Polar Bar.

There was an entertaining mix of themed-cocktails on offer and I’d highly recommend the Gingerbread Elf-tini.

The punchy concoction featured coffee liquor, vodka and Baileys, with a touch of gingerbread syrup to finish.

After a ride on the Arctic Express, you’re guaranteed to jingle all the way home!

The Greatest Snowman runs from November 21 to December 23.

To get on board, hop to Pedley Street Station, Arch 63 Pedley Street, London, E1 5BW

Tickets start at £60 – available here
