STARE THAT: Beasts roam free at Fortnum & Mason

Fortnum & Mason, Britain’s oldest department store, without a doubt the best place to get a festive hamper, should you ever require one and a heritage brand of (inter)national significance is vamping up for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

A tradition dating back to 1863 sees the store get into festive gear inside and out to add to the pageantry of Piccadilly on national occasions such as weddings and coronations. The inspiration for this year’s theme comes from the Queen’s 1952 coronation where ten heraldic creatures (mythical and real) taken from her Majesty’s ancestors’ coats of arms made their first spectacular appearance. The beasts, with their new groovy colourful appearance are dancing around everywhere in the store.

As a proud Royal Warrant holder, and staying true to Fortnum & Mason’s commitment to  supporting British craftsmanship, all technical work and décor has been undertaken by British craftsmen, using materials sourced within the UK.

Swing by for some snap-happy moments and get yourself a hamper while you’re at it at London’s Piccadilly.
