Paul Cocksedge Studio has launched the Save A Speaker campaign,
aiming to raise awareness of the shocking amount of technology waste happening
Whilst developing The Vamp®, which transforms any speaker into a great sounding portable
Bluetooth speaker, we discovered that 10,000 perfectly functional speakers are sent to recycling
centres in the UK each month and countless more end up in landfill or incineration plants.
We have access to these speakers, which were just about to be broken down or destroyed, and
will be giving one away with every purchase of The Vamp®, free of charge and with no extra
delivery costs*, until the 15th of December 2014.
The core beliefs behind The Vamp® are, first, a commitment to produce great sound. The old helps
the new: our fantastic old speakers hooked up to The Vamp® produces a quality of sound that has
a fullness and texture that is rare to find in comparable products. Second, we have a strongly-held belief in recycling.
Paul Cocksedge, the designer of The Vamp® says: “I’m particularly worried about electronic waste, and I’ve seen horrendous examples of it. When I discovered that 10,000 speakers a month are sent to UK recycling centres, with many others ending up in landfill or incineration plants, I knew we had to get these speakers back into circulation…” Our offer of a free, recycled speaker for The Vamp® is not going to solve the problem of electronic waste. But taking better care of this discarded but brilliant equipment, which would otherwise be lost or destroyed, is a step in the right direction.
When customers purchase The Vamp® they will simply let us know if they would like a speaker as
well, free of charge and with free delivery.
