Samata Angel Can’t Stop Staring At Skingraft

Greetings from LA ‘It’s Rude to Stare’ Voyeurs! Fashionista Samata Angel here – guest writing whilst in sunny LA working for the Camerons in my new Oscar role.  And I have a sordid confession to make (cue Hans Zimmer)….. I can not help but stare at Skingraft. Introduced to me by my LA-girl-in-the-know (Emmy-Award winning costumer designer Birgit Muller), this Los Angeles based design house started by creating stunning art-inspired fashion which later evolved into full ready-to-wear collections for men and women along with ornate one-of-a-kind pieces for the runway and stage.

The brand is made up of designer Jonny Cota and brand manager Chris Cota who have set up a store in Downtown LA. I asked my driver to do the hour long journey from Santa Monica because I felt it was worth it and was not disappointed. Infact I caught myself staring for so long my pupils started to dilate…

…so I thought best to make a purchase…

Totally justifiable mind you when your boyfriend back home owns one beast of a motorbike. In cases like these “a beautiful  leather jacket is more than just an aesthetic buy, it’s a necessity…” I convince myself with ease.

Think skinny, black and basic with an edge. What do you think? Good buy in the style stakes? 7.5 people asked me where I got it from between the store in Downnton LA and Soho House in West Hollywood over the course of an hour. (0.5 for the one girl who stared for so long that I counted it as an ask).
