Thu Jan 1, 1970

Bringing some much needed heat to London this year is the collaboration between Rio de Janeiro’s Culture Secretariat, London 2012 Festival, BAC and V22 Summer Club. 30 artists were commissioned and they will land in London July 6th to spend 30 days creating 30 works of art, inspired by the Olympic Games. The project is inspired by the Brazilian artists who created a cultural invasion of the ’86  World Cup in Mexico, the London ‘occupiers’ are coming to London to  start their own journey through to Rio2016.

The events brings together cinema and theatre makers, visual and digital artists, graphic designers, dancers, choreographers, musicians, an architect and a DJ from across the diverse boundaries and borders of Rio de Janeiro’s dramatic cultural landscape.

The event kicks off with a free public Brazilian party at the Battersea Arts Centre this Sunday
