You’re only 21 once. However it’s very rare that you meet a 21 year old who’s already knocked back 190,000 bottles of Champagne… so let me introduce you to Quaglinos.
Not celebrating their birthday on just one day, or two like Her Majesty, Quaglinos has schemed an impressive five month plan of revelry, and to put the icing on the (birthday) cake they have also launched a harlequin Bellini Bar.
Popping corks in March, the Belinis will be flowing right the way through to July. With a rainbow of flavours up for grabs such as: Marmalade, Beetroot, Black Cherry and Basil and Mandarin.
Just as mountain climbers eat Kendal mint cake for sustenance on their accent, Belini Bar goers are supplied with meringue ‘kisses‘, by the award winning Meringue Girls. Perfectly paired with the bubbly menu the meringues come in an extensive array of flavours including; a classic Peach and Champagne Bellini flavour, Pistachio, Rosewater, Lemongrass and Ginger.
Accompanying this flux of edible delights, Quaglinos have also scheduled a variety of premium entertainment. From March 24th 2014, the venue will present “21,” an exhibition by man about town, photographer and film maker Dean Chalkley. The exhibition will be an exciting series of twenty one photographs of modern day music heroes and heroines
April will mark the launch of the Spring Sessions, which see live acts performing in the intimate space – acts to be announced shortly.
In May they will be getting all green fingered (and not just from the pistachio meringues) with a pop-up flower garden, and accompanying workshops with to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show. This section of the celebration will also incorporate floral-infused meringue kisses to be paired with alfresco-inspired Bellini’s, such as Orange Blossom, English Rose, French Violet and Lavender Honey.
Hear the elastic of a birthday hat snap under your chin and don your best party dress, this celebration is going to put the stamina of Mayfair’s to the test.
