PUNKS JUMP: Interview & Summer Party at The Village Underground

Londoner Joe Attard & the Swede David Andersson are the two like-minded opposites that make up Punks Jump Up.

During the last 4 years they have released disco club smashes like Feels Good, Blockhead, Get Down (Special CCCrash Mixxx), Dance To Our Disco, Chimes pt 1 & Mr Overtime feat Dave1 on labels like Kitsune, Moda & klein.

In addition to their own releases they have also done official remixes of everyone from Miike Snow, Villa, Oliver, Moonlight Matters, Two Door Cinema Club, St Lucia, Lykke Li, Gossip, Robyn, Ladyhawke, Crystal Castles, Chromeo, Tiga to Joakim, Ladytron, Yelle, In Flagranti, Supermen Lovers & Peter Bjorn & John.

Joe & David are now deep in studio concentration finishing off new PJU material to surface throughout the rest of -13. Also a bunch of fresh remixes will come out soon, one official commissioned remix of Bryan Ferry’s classic Don’t Stop The Dance.

It’s Rude To Stare interview the lads and get an image of what they are staring at!!!

You played in London, Moscow and Paris to name a few, but if you could chose anywhere on earth, where would you play?

HAWAII PLEASE, London has been so cold & rainy lately. We’re desperate for some SUN !!

You’ve been collaborating with Kitsuné a lot : compilations, EPs, lives, what’s your best memory with the Kitsuné family? And best stage memory ever?

There are quite a few! Fun times with Gildas & Moonlight Matters in Jakarta & SIngapore  & also playing Kitsune tent at Dour Festival in Belgium in front of 6000 peeps was NICE. We had a few Spinal Tap moments that time too. Haha

Could you tell us your three favorite places to hang out in London ?

Dalston & Hackney for late night shenanigans, west end for strong & hot espressos & East Finchley for Allan’s Records.

What’s next for Punk Jumps Up? Any shows upcoming?

We’re currently finishing off new material, more singles & EP’s coming very soon with start in late June..! We’ll be playing ALL OVER THE PLACE (which includes

somewhere near to YOU) for the rest of 2013 and have a string of releases coming out. On Kitsune? Def hope so, we will send to Gildas VERY SOON 😉

Also, of course, very much looking forward to another legendary Kitsune London party at Village Underground on June 22nd !!!

What was the last thing that made you stop and stare?
