It’s so refreshing to learn about new concepts and innovators. To kick of London Fashion Week, It’s Rude To Stare joined Polosophia to embark on a new horizon, the launch of world’s first story-based brand. The idea behind the brand is novel yet delightfully simple: the garments are based on an original story, each collection corresponding to a chapter of Polosophia Chronicles.
The first chapter, entitled The Original Protagonist, draws us into the magical world of the character, who sets out on an adventurous quest of finding her true self. As the protagonist evolves she gathers perfect items for her wardrobe, brought to life through Polosophia designs.
The debut collection is an exploration of a capsule wardrobe with a strong avant-garde twist. The structure of the collection is based on iconic, archetypal staples: the coat, the shirt, the slip-dress, trousers. Yet, each item is as unexpected as it is familiar, with the construction and silhouettes effortlessly combining the elements of Eastern dress aesthetics, and Western tailoring, with an overarching minimalist sensibility.
The garments aim to be wearable and versatile, while still making a powerful statement, and the designer achieved it by working with oversized silhouettes and intricate details. The items can be worn in multiple ways, many are reversible, and all made out of carefully chosen natural materials: crisp organic cotton, supple organic silk, and butter-soft flowing wool.
For the launch Polosophia paired up with the beautiful space of Jane Packer Flowers, a spot of tranquility and ease at the heart of bustling Marylebone. The combination of fresh flowers, relaxing retro-futuristic house music, natural drinks by Seedlip and artisan bakery, and life illustration session creates an atmosphere of a dreamy picnic in a magical garden – the perfect backdrop for Polosophia collection: naturally simple and magically effortless.
