Established in Shoreditch by Hannah Turner Voakes in 2007, Paper Dress Vintage moved to a new home in Hackney Central 18 months ago and has never looked back since. Hannah, who studied a fine art & textiles has been running her Hackney vintage clothing boutique, cafe, bar and private event space which is the home to a variety of entertainment including comedy, burlesque, book launches, fashion shows, cabaret, fashion illustration and jive dancing classes! Hannah named the boutique after a fad from the 60’s – the paper dress.
Paper Dress Yoga is Hannah’s latest wellbeing venture, a new holistic and zen yoga space. You enter through a separate entrance to the vintage shop, arriving at a beautifully styled studio which embodies her passion for vintage items and interior design. A giant kimono dominates the room while retro rugs and lavender scented ‘parrot print’ eye masks are stacked ready for Shavasana. The studio are offering a range of yoga classes including Ashtanga, Dharma, Vinyasa and Hatha plus special workshops and events such as ‘Embodying Self-Care’ & Mindfulness workshops.
The studio celebrates a new neighbourhood hub with playful and creative teachers that encourage students curiosity and self-examination whilst never forgetting the importance of self-care, aiding students safely through practice with verbal guidance and, where appropriate physical assists. We recommend trying Fern Trelfa’s creative yoga flow classes to open the mind body and soul… See full timetable HERE
