Fresh from their stint hosting the Boogie Nights opening parties at Australia’s Falls Arts & Music festival earlier this year, interactive performance company Legs Akimbo return to the fold with a brand new self-‐produced show set to make its debut performance in Bethnal Green.
The production, entitled ‘The Church’, takes top billing at a night of religious satire ‘Oh My God’ on 3 May at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. Fronted by insane pastor the Right Reverend Michael Alabama Jackson and packed full of ecumenical eccentricity and Pentecostal parody, attendees will be encouraged to join in with on stage rituals including absinthe baptisms and confessionals. All this is backed by a live organist, choir and DJ and of course, fuelled by gallons of misappropriated communion wine.
Elsewhere on the bill party goers can expect a heady a mix of music and comedy interspersed with live comedy performances from Twisted Loaf, Stefan Gaphausen, Carlo Jacucci and We Are Goose. And, if that wasn’t enough, the clergy cacophony continues into the small hours with DJ sets from DJ Chuckles and DJ Nadz.
