NUMBER 90: The Birthday Weekender

Hackney’s canal-side hot spot Number 90 is turning TWO next week and from the looks of things they’re celebrating in style. The bar and kitchen, notorious for its buzzing atmosphere and delish food have a whole chunk of fun in store over the 4 day period. The opening of the newly expanded terrace will be revealed over the event so the party can spill out and enjoy the sun going down each night.

See our guide to the weekender below.

THURSDAY: An array of immersive entertainment including well known artists create bespoke Number 90 masterpieces. Live music spins throughout the night and a special DJ set from Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay is sure to get the crowd going. A ‘dry ice’ ice cream van will be on call. All sounds real er, n-ice!

FRIDAY: The popular Late Night Tales and Rough Trade label will be providing the music kicks. And there’ll be a HUGE piñata to horse around with.

SATURDAY: Take a stroll through the Starlight Boutique glitter camp, or take a stab at the huge limbo competition, it’ll have you bending over backwards. Music from Phonica Records and Slothboogie will be on until the early hours.

SUNDAY: What is absolutely vital for a cold, cosy Sunday? Thats right, a Roast dinner, according to Number 90 arguably the best in Hackney. Relax to beats spanning funk, soul and reggae from Russ Ryan and DJ Scratchy. Reminisce on the weekends antics as you browse the retro record stand selling vinyls and birthday weekend memorabilia.

You’ll need to take a deep breath (and a long hard nap) after this lot!
