After grabbing everyone’s attention back in 2011 with Ritual Union, Little Dragon are back with news of a brand new album.
Nabuma Rubberband will be released on their new label, Because Music (Justice, Metronomy, Django Django, Major Lazer), the record takes us on a darker journey than it’s predecessors, moving their experimental pop sounds further with a fusion of R&B, electronica, jazz, pop and dance. Front woman Yukimi Nagano’s voice is as strong as ever, drawing you in their unique soundscapes. It’s the constant need to evolve and push to the next level that keeps this Swedish band on the cusp of what’s new in music. The production itself is undoubtedly impeccable.
Inspiration came in the form of the more experimental sounds of Prince’s back catalogue as well as club culture and vintage Janet Jackson slow jams that Yukimi found herself listening to whilst wandering around Gothenburg.
Little Dragon will be making waves at Secret Garden Party, Somerset House Series and will play on the Other Stage at Glastonbury to name a few.
Nabuma Rubberband, the bands fourth studio record will be released on May 12th.
