There should be loads of puns to made about Ma’ Plucker – a chicken restaurant with a flirty looking bird as their mascot, based on Beak Street – but chicken like this shouldn’t be joked about… and its a Monday and the gags are proving more difficult than first imagined…
Noting the number of chicken fans in Soho, Ma’ Plucker has brought London’s poultry-loving boys and gals, just what they need. Ma’ Plucker will serve up the very breast (sorry), Southern chicken, served three very different ways and on the side this free-ranger will be laying down some real delights.
‘Sylvia’ the cover gal chicken behind Ma’ Plucker offers a whole host of home-cooked delights with the menu being based around three of mamma’s favourite chicken recipes.
Guests will have the choice of: Chili Rubbed and Roasted Rotisserie, to, Crispy and Coated Buttermilk Dipped, Slow and Low Spicy Pulled, or, for those who favour cheese over chicken, Crispy Coated Halloumi.
After choosing their bird guests will then choose a side of either; Freshly Plucked Salad, a House Bun, or, a Maple Waffle.
Finally guests must choose a sauce, with options including; MP Chicken Skin Gravy, Chipotle Chili Sauce, Kansas BBQ, Herb Dressing, or Maple Chili Glaze (yum).
On our visit we opted for the pickles but if you’re really going all in, we would suggest the ‘Crack & Cheese’ a crispy on the outside, deep-fried mac and cheese ball.
Following up the chicken feast, guests can choose from an indulgent deserts list: home-made Sweet ‘n’ Salty Popcorn, Cornflake and Caramel Sundae, or a slice of all- American pie.
So now you know why the chicken crossed the road (there it is!)
