Using their geographical tools as bait, the Three Compasses have managed to lure some of the tastiest cuisines from across the globe into their pub in Dalston.
Bringing you all the gourmand sophistication of Paris and morphing it with the languid chopping charm of the USA they will be housing Le Bun Social one of the most experimental pop-ups of late.
Le Bun Social, (unfortunately is not a weekly meeting for single croissants and rehabilitated bagels) is simply a place to enjoy all the swish of the French with the cutlery-less ease of the Americans.
Their trademark dishes include Le Bourguignon Bun, Le Duck Frites Bun and Le (o so naughty) Fried Chicken Caesar salad however they also constantly mixing it up with the menu revolving through the week like a rubix cube. On Tuesday AKA ‘Taco Tuesdays‘ regulars can enjoy hickory short rib tacos, red wine chipotle sauce and fried fish tacos, bisque butter and chipotle dust washed down with QuiQuiRiQui mezcal slushies. Wednesdays will be the classic ‘Steak Frites‘ night serving seared hangar steaks, red wine jus, frites with Béarnaise sauce and ‘Red Wine Roulette‘ will come into play, choose either red/even or black/odd numbers, spin the wheel and win from a selection of 3 good/great/top-notch bottles of red wine (£20 to play)
All good French meals finish with something alcoholic and all good American meals finish with something calorific so striking a nice compromise Le Bun offer a really sturdy Chambord drizzled Bruleed New York Cheesecake. Yum.
As an unmatchable mongrel of the gluttony world Le Bun Social has taken all the best bits of both cultures and served it up in an institution of a pub which resembles the best bits of ours.
