Tucked away behind Dalston Roof Park, in a concrete forest, you will find the month long Kopparberg pop-up which launched on Wednesday. The event, which had a mystical feel to it, catered Mama’s Jerk Chicken wraps and was drowned in delicious Kopparberg cider. The headline act, Kelis, (dolled up in Miu Miu stilettos and Versace trousers) who proved that she is no diva, stopped her taxi in order to dive in to a plate of jerk chicken. The pop-up was carefully curated with lanterns and a wooden stage which gave the scene an ethereal sense. Headlined by R&B legend, Kelis, the audience was blown away by her mash up of ‘Milkshake’ with Madonna’s ‘Holiday’.
As the crowd danced to the Dj sets as well as Kelis, waitresses offered little tastes of Scandanavia as well as Kopparberg cider samples – the Cloudberry cider is a little taste of heaven. To warm up the crowd before the headline act was the Swedish singer, Frida Sundemo who cast a spell over the Urban Forest with her effortless melodies.
The launch was attended by stars including Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her husband Richard Jones who popped by for a summery Kopparberg cider before heading off to watch Coldplay perform. This free outdoor festival is definitely worth a visit as it is running for five weeks, offering guests a magical mix of music, food and drink.
