London’s newest brunch club Karma Sanctum Yoga is one not to be missed! Featuring a one hour vinyasa flow class with Yogi Katie Silver and a revitalising al fresco brunch at The Sanctum Hotel – it is the perfect Sunday treat to recharge and revitalise yourself for the working week ahead.
Karma Sanctum Yoga is a monthly affair, for which we secured ourself a spot in June, the next one is scheduled for Sun 30 July and places are limited (20 per class and are first come first serve) so booking is essential.
Katie’s ‘Sweat. Tone. Flex’ class takes place in the hotel’s cinema room, which is transformed into a peaceful yoga inner sanctum and is actually a fantastic way to spend a Sunday. Turns out the majority of our group (us included) were all nursing gentle hangovers so this was the perfect cure. The mats provided by Lululemon are laid out for us as we enter, with a refreshing bottle of CocoPro on top to keep us hydrated during the class alongside a goodie bag. We left totally zen and balanced after the class in which Katie had us flexing muscles we didn’t know existed and tested our strength by combining classic vinyasa yoga poses with bodyweight fitness exercises.
Once the yoga was over we chatted with our fellow yogi’s, checked out the contents of our goodie bags (worth over £50, these differ each time apparently but ours were epic, there was a voucher for lululemon, pair of hype leggings and some temporary gold tattoos) before heading up to the heated roof terrace on the hotel’s fourth floor where we were served our revitalising al fresco buffet brunch. The selection is certainly more wholesome than we’re used to from brunches and the only bottomless drinks on display are teas, coffees and fresh juices. There’s also a delicious range of healthy foods including fresh salads, fruits, eggs, bread and dips all delicious and essential to restore our bodies.
Satisfied with our brunch we debate whether or not we should make use of the heated outdoor jacuzzi so we can completely wind down and relax the mind and body. Unfortunately, we give it a miss on this occasion as we have to rush off to meet other friends but we are left envious of other yogi’s who settled into the jacuzzi to soak in the sunshine.
Last year The Sanctum Hotel joined forces with award-winning international travel brand Karma Group. The newly formed Karma Sanctum Hotel Group is planning to launch a series of hotels globally in some of the world’s most stunning locations. Karma Sanctum Yoga is part of the rebrand which offers a taste of serenity and harmony. All yoga attendees will be automatically eligible for the exclusive Karma Sanctum Club Membership, for more information on this and the brunch which is priced at £40 per person go to Karma Sanctum Yoga or email email@example.com or visit The Sanctum Hotel.
