Jumeirah Carlton Tower is based in the heart of Knightsbridge, offering visitors and locals alike a 5-star haven in the centre of London’s most luxurious area. Surrounded by all the top designer shops, quaint gated parks and Michelin starred restaurants, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a summer stay in London.
I experienced their heavenly Peak Health Club & Spa for a 60-minute Mohom massage. Upon entry, everything promotes tranquility and zen, which in the busy metropolis we live in, is a real luxury. Their soft white robes and slippers make you feel comfortable from the outset and their treatment rooms are beautiful sanctuaries of calm, filled with the scent of aromatherapy oils. An hour on one of their comfortable massage beds is enough to make you forget the stresses and strains that a hectic London lifestyle can contain. Starting with a foot bath, the therapist cleansed my feet, which is an ancient ritual carried out originally in the east. The therapist then used a combination of ancient and modern techniques, which ironed out all the knots, improved my circulation and left me in a deep state of relaxation. With a choice of oils, you can choose either a relaxing, energizing or stress-busting blend. My lemongrass based oil blend, helped to deeply relax my muscles and entire body. A steam room afterwards was a great way to finish the afternoon before facing the outdoor world, which by this point felt a million miles away.
