JUJU’s BAR & STAGE: Extrovertly artistic events at the Old Truman Brewery

Juju’s Bar & Stage at the Old Truman Brewery is a new platform for emerging and established creative talent, offering an intriguing and exciting line up of events over the coming months. As the rest of May looks set to showcase a stellar cast, we clear our calendars and get ready to immerse ourselves in a world of culture.

Here’s what to expect…

On 20th May, the London-wide festival Open Senses graces the Stage. A musical fiesta on the Juju line-up, the late night event hosted with ‘We Are Now’ explores performance and art and draws on the audiences senses. With artists such as Bunty and Yusulfa performing, the event will give a new take on your traditional music gig.

On 24th May, a literary club night called Book Slam takes over Juju’s featuring top writers and the finest live music. The night has been known to draw in a great crowd with previous guests including Hanif Kureishi and Dave Eggers. It’s a one of a kind evening!

Finally, if you’re a fan of Red Dwarf you’ll be interested to hear what Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) has to say at the LDN Talks @ Night event on 30th May – a Tedx style talk to challenge your perspective.

Juju’s Director Juliet Kennedy says “I wanted to encompass all of the arts at Juju’s and all of the cosmopolitan cultures coexisting in the metropolis. There’s so much artistic and academic enterprise happening in London, particularly in this area. I realised that years spent communal warehouse living in East London while studying, partying and collaborating creatively meant that I had access to an incredible array of creative talent. With this, I made a vow only to showcase absolute excellence at Juju’s and never to compromise. So far I haven’t even wobbled.”

Juju’s Bar & Stage has a fresh approach to the music and arts scene in London today. With plenty more in the pipeline, keep an eye on their website for future events.
