The Vaults, housed under Waterloo station, is one of my favourite spaces in London and it’s always producing surprises. The venue, which is known for its wacky immersive productions, is currently hosting a brilliant show titled Divine Proportions. Business hotels have a reputation for being drab and a bit stiff but nowadays they’re trying to join the hip crowd, making corporate workers feel a little less corporate. The Park Plaza London Waterloo - which opened in June of 2017 - is one of those spots trying to fit into this slot. Set under the dank railway arches, the 90 minute-long production transports spectators through a labyrinth of tunnels with blood-curdling scenes as they go. Read more →Originally deriving from Berlin, woodruff syrup (made from a herbaceous plant and has a distinctive electric green hue and a strong aromatic fragrance) is a relatively unknown cocktail ingredient in the UK, that is being used increasingly by bartenders to bring a sweet, fresh flavour to drinks. In Berlin it is used to flavour wine, beer and even sausages. We went along to Primo Bar at The Westminster Park Plaza on the Southbank to check out some cocktails featuring this new ingredient.
