ICELANDAIR: Release a short film to launch their new ‘Season of Surprises’ initiative

Airline company Icelandair have just launched a new initiative for travelers called Season of Surprises which highlights that transatlantic passengers can stopover in Iceland for up to seven days for free!

The initiative is brought to life through a short film which shows a passenger Kat, sampling the delights of Iceland in a 48-hour stopover. Kat gets the shock of her life, as she is treated to a surprise, two-day stopover in Iceland. The two-minute film shows her arriving at Keflavik airport en route from Seattle for what she thinks is a short connection on the way to her final destination: London.

The film also shows a host of Icelanders ready to show her everything that the country has to offer, all she has to do is choose a guide to start her 48 hour adventure. Kat is then whisked off on her own bespoke itinerary tailored to her own passions.

Travelers who take up the chance to stopover, can experience a whole host of activities on offer, from a glacier hike, a visit to the Blue Lagoon, a volcano tour and of course the world famous, northern lights.

Helgi Mar Bjorgvinsson Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Icelandair comments: “With more than three quarters of people craving more excitement it has become apparent that one destination isn’t enough for time poor adventurers. People want a multi-experience break to bring diversity and spontaneity to their lives and the transatlantic stopover is a way of achieving this with Iceland being the perfect stopover destination”.

Flights from London to New York including three-night stopover accommodation in Iceland starting from just £673 means there has never been a better time to explore one of the most magical places on earth.

Icelandair are also giving passengers the chance to win their very own amazing Surprise Stopover experience as part of their Season of Surprises. You can nominate yourself or a friend for the Surprise Stopover VIP treatment.

Icelandair flies year round to Iceland from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow. From 2015 Icelandair will also fly from Birmingham.
