Those clever so n so’s from Street Feast have done it again. This time they’ve taken their summer time shin-dig and tucked it under cover for the colder months.
Curated to awaken your winter pallet, the foodie friendly market plays host to some of London’s most exuberant names in street food.
This weekend we were invited to try the one off “Tequila Feast”, this meant that the hawkers had given their menus a Mexican twist, with a splash of Jose Cuervo across the board. BOBs Lobster served up luxy Scottish “drunk lobster rolls” which had been flambéed in Jose Cuervo and smokey chipotle. At Breddos Taco’s you could nosh on some o-so-tender, slow roasted short rib tacos that had been deviously topped with bone marrow salsa. The guys at Smoke Stack had brought their daydream worthy sticky Cuervo glazed rib tips, and for afters, the masters of their ice cool trade, the Sorbitium Ices gang offered up snowball sized portions of dark chocolate and raspberry, hibiscus and tequila sorbets.
To accompany these succulent bites they suggested craft ales from the likes of Camden Brewery and soft and full bodied reds from Street Vin and if you were still feeling the chill the apple and cinnamon, tequila toddy was sure to warm even the iciest of feaster.
Once we’d had our fill, we made our way to the bar and fixed up fast with a Paloma – the long tequila based, grapefruit drink. Whilst at the bar its advisable for any patron to do some stretches as dancing will undoubtedly ensue – with hind leg shaking beats playing until at least 2AM.
