G&T just got a whole new meaning as, renowned Mediterranean gin brand Gin Mare and critically acclaimed Chef José Pizarro join forces to bring together Spanish favourites Gin & Tapas together for a perfectly paired menu from now until June at his Bermondsey restaurant Pizarro.
Partnering with Gin Mare, José brings an authentic yet contemporary taste of the Mediterranean, inspired by the unique savoury botanicals of the gin. The gin and tapas pairing will showcasing the herbaceous flavours of olive, thyme, basil and rosemary, José crafted each dish to delicately incorporate each of Gin Mare’s botanicals, for a selection of unique dishes. Each recipe has been expertly paired with a gin cocktail to enhance and complement the flavours.
We’ve had a little preview of the divine menu and can report back and confirm it’s delicious credentials – it’s well worth a trip or two. The menu as most tapas menus are, is designed to be shared and includes some beautifully cooked prawn fritters, melt in your mouth chicken livers, a wonderfully juicy Presa Ibérica main and a heavenly chocolate pot all paired with delicious gin cocktails. The cocktail with beetroot was a highlight for us as was the G&T with mango and pepper.
We would hugely recommend this little escape to the Mediterranean via Bermondsey St by heading to the Pizarro restaurant, where both dishes and cocktails will be available until June. The delicious and decadent chocolate pot will also feature on Pizarro’s menu at Taste of London 2016.
