After taking over an ex-gym and former 1866 olympic space last year, the German Gymnasium restaurant has bought an element of grandeur to the Kings Cross area. With multiple dining rooms, guests can enjoy brunch, lunch and dinner at the German residence. And to top it, you can now enjoy a workout there too!
Teaming up with MW5 fitness, the Grade II listed building will play host to a course of retro style boot camp classes, held on Sunday 9th October, 6th November and 4th December. Classes are priced at £15 per session. Guests will take part in high intensity interval training that mixes the old with the new – old fashioned equipment such as Indian clubs and rope pulls are combined with modern movements like tyre flips and bodyweight drills. Yikes!
After all that, you’ll be in need of some post-workout fuel, so the kind folk at German Gymnasium will be offering 20% off brunch. When we visited we tried the German Power Breakfast (Bavarian meatloaf, rosti, sauerkraut, fried egg and cheddar on a soft bap) and it was divine! Although if you fancy something lighter they also serve poached eggs on toast and chia pudding bowls. Or cool down with one of their delicious smoothies, filled with antioxidants.
