Invite me anywhere with a meat-ridden menu (of high quality of course) and you can pretty much guarantee that I’ll be there with bells on. When I received an email about an event that Gaucho (Piccadilly) are holding on Monday 28th January, I already had a feeling (just by reading the subject line) that it’d be a mind blowing soiree.
Gaucho’s fourth annual ‘Divine Bovine’ will be hosted by the one and only food guru Tom Parker Bowles. It looks to be one of the most exciting gastronomic events in my calendar so far, and it definitely should be in your calendar too.
The main feature of the event is a carefully prepared five course tasting menu that showcases the beef and pampas of Argentina. The beefy menu consists of:
Chinchulines with finger limes, baby coriander and a chinch sphere.
Braised beef cheeks croutons
Veal sweetbreads with a latin spiced broth, pan fried sweetbreads with majorjam, radish and shaved cauliflower
Cured lomito with wood sorrel and herb aioli cured in sugar, salt and spices
28 days dry aged Fillet of Argentine Aberdeen Angus with parsnip puree, garden peas, baby spinach and Malbec sauce
Lemon infused Pampas grass mousse with edible field
See? Didn’t I tell you this looks like a culinary event not to be missed? Well you don’t have to as tickets (which cost £75 pp) can be reserved by emailing –firstname.lastname@example.org
For those of you who can’t make it, worry not as you can expect a full review in due course….Sorted! I can’t wait to swallow some beef on Swallow street.
