One of my favourite London venues of the moment was kicking off at the weekend with the sound of disco and house beats and the smell of comforting Latin American foods. The Doodle Bar complex in Battersea which houses Testbed1 was home to this exciting pop-up event which saw South London crowds come together to enjoy an evening of cocktails, disco and dinner.
Rum cocktails served on arrival were a great start to the night and background disco tunes throughout dinner got people in the mood for dancing.
Exciting Latin flavours came together in a menu that boasted dishes such as pork tacos, lamb chops with crushed aubergine and chorizo & cheese empanadas. There were a constant flow of courses rolling on to the table, from sharing starters to refreshing desserts.
As the night crept into the early hours, the music got louder, the crowd grew thicker and the dancing begun. A fun, friendly crowd kept the dance floor occupied to the best disco and house tunes of the moment.
Tickets are available to dine and dance at a reasonable £35 and disco only tickets are £10 with admission from 10pm.
Joining the pop-up revolution, Disco Diner has invaded and turned this warehouse type venue into a one-night dinner and party to remember.
