Bottomless brunching is the ‘must do’ dining experience London is participating in at the moment. We’ve already sampled several delicious brunches offering bottomless Prosecco, Mimosa or even Bloody Mary – it’s the trend that keeps on giving and we are fully on board.
Coin Laundry new venture from ULG, is the latest bar and restaurant aiming to add a fun new dimension to brunching with unlimited drinks offering brunch with either Bloody Mary, Bucks Fizz or Pamplemousse. We also learnt that we could mix and match the drinks so we weren’t limited to the same choice for the entire duration which was a massive plus. We like to start with a Bloody Mary before moving onto prosecco (which though wasn’t on the menu the waiters were happy to allow). We also sampled the Pamplemousse which was a delicious combination of gin, grapefruit and elderflower.
What a perfectly relaxed way to start our lazy Saturday, a lovely unpretentious brunch was exactly what we were in the mood for as were fellow diners by the looks of it. Our waiter Zak was adorable, super friendly and knowledgeable, we took him up on his advise and started with some small plates of Fried cheese & pineapple jelly (delicious) and Spag bol croquettes (absolutely unbelievable – these were so good we’re still thinking about them). Next up we ordered the Omelette primavera and their signature Chicken kiev with cauliflower cheese again upon Zak’s recommendation and we have to say we weren’t disappointed.
Designed by Head Chef Nik Prescot, the menu at Coin Laundry looks to the 70s and 80s for inspiration to create dishes that offer a modern take on old-school British comfort food. The food is kitsch and delicious, the little touches they add including a coin laundry piece of gum with the kiev just add to its quirkiness.
Retro themed, Coin Laundry spreads over two floors and the interior retains some of the buildings original pub features including beautiful decorative internal and exterior tiling. The artwork has been carefully selected from British Journal of Photography’s International Photography winner Juno Calypso and we even spotted our namesake “It’s Rude to Stare’ piece amidst the selection.
A welcome addition to the burgeoning, Exmouth market area, Coin Laundry is fantastic for it’s laid back, relaxed vibe with delicious old skool brunch offering, we recommend you grab a few friends and while away a few hours eating good comfort food and enjoying the bottomless offerings.
