We never need an excuse to visit our favourite Southbank haunt Skylon, so when we heard that it’s collaborating with street food specialist CLAW for a crustacean-packed pop up within its Bar & Grill, we headed straight over to sample some of these famed crab treats whilst taking in the panoramic views.
Fabian Clark set up CLAW in January 2015 on a mission to put British Crab back on plates and works directly with local fishermen from Start bay, on the south coast of Devon, to ensure the quality of Claw’s crabs.
The delicious dishes will feature on Skylon’s menu alongside Executive Chef Tom Cook’s signature dishes. The full menu includes CLAW’s seafood based pieces de résistance, Sea bream carpaccio or a Kimchi burger (Devonshire crab, iceberg, kimchi slaw, sriracha reduction all served in a homemade brioche bun).
Alternatively, if like us you were looking for a cheeky lunch time drink at the bar (it was Friday after all) and some snacks to soak it up with, then we can recommend the Crab croquette fondue, Korean chicken and Coconut popcorn shrimp – all were recommended to us by our lovely waitress Julia so we’re just passing it on.
CLAW will be available at Skylon until 30th August – so hurry and get your street food fix with with panoramic views of the river thames.
