CALA BONITA BEACH CLUB: Ibiza, review

There’s nothing like an adventurous dirt track to attract lure in the intrepid and fabulous types who enjoy Ibiza Bohemian glamour, but off the beaten track. Cala Bonita Beach Club has it’s own private beach, loungers, restaurant and bar, and is nestled away on S’Estanyol beach. This is a must visit lunch spot, bustling from early until around 6/7pm for sunset when the restaurant slowly winds down. Bookings are essential here for lunch as well as long lazy dining while resident & international guest DJ’s choose an experimental approach to the music!

The bar boasts a delicious cocktail menu and is stocked with an incredible selection of Mezcal, with one of their signature shots being a Mezcal Gazpacio fusion; it’s simply a divine combination, smoky and savoury! The restaurant is divided into a tapas bar and then a main restaurant overlooking the ocean. You can also get tapas and the full menu from the loungers spread across the beach, whereby the staff wonder out with a wooden table, quite literally giving you table service.

On the tapas menu the octopus and scallops are simply a must. From the main restaurant, all the dishes are generously portioned. I fell in love with the Cevice and Mussels cooked in a rich spicy chorizo, although their King Crab claws and whole burrata were getting a lot of love and praise from other diners! The decor is true to the Ibiza simplicity with stunning wicker lights resembling hats. They also have cute benches built into the side of the restaurant with large pillows and wooden styling keeping it earthy and Mediterranean! Cala Bonita is truly one of the hidden gems that keeps Ibiza exciting year on year.
