Sundays are about to get indulgent with the launch of Il Porco, London’s most authentic Italian Roast Dinner at Bunga Bunga. The venue is perhaps Battersea’s most eclectically stylish (quirky Italian paraphernalia hangs from the ceilings) and tongue-in-cheek venue and now talented head chef, Alexis de Naray, has conceived an extraordinary three-course feasting menu of pork delicacies to further add to its appeal.
In celebration of the delizioso pig, guests can now look forward to an array of scrumptious sharing dishes made from the entire hog. Dishes include slow cooked shredded pork shoulder, pig cheek arancini (so so good)
slow-cooked sticky ribs (yummy), garlic and rosemary pork loin medallions and pork and apple sausages wrapped in pancetta (simply meat-a-licious). The porky also meat feast comes with aubergine parmigiana, roast potatoes, celeriac remoulade, baby carrots and Bunga Bunga’s special BBQ sauce.
Vegetarians can look away! Just kidding, they can indulge in a delicious spinach, ricotta and pine nut cannelloni, in addition to a selection of delectable pizzas instead.
To wash the yummy food the Bunga Bunga talented bar team have created an innovative range of new cocktails including the Abruzzo, a punchy mix of Botanist Gin, Evangelista Punch D’Abruzzo liqueur, black tea and raspberry infused cocchi, Americano, fresh lime juice and homemade tea syrup; the Campania, a fruity concoction made with Strawberry-infused Russian Standard vodka, Cartron Pomme Verte liqueur, apple juice, strawberry puree, fresh lemon juice topped with limoncello foam; and the Basilicata, a revitalising drink made with Pancetta-infused Russian Standard vodka, Cointreau liqueur, tomato juice, fresh lemon juice, homemade bloody Mary mix. We also tested the bartenders skills by going off piste and asking him to make up a cocktail based on a list of ingredients we liked – the result a delicious concoction of gin, cucumber with mint and lime that was so good we would recommend they add it to their menu.
Stuffed and content we hobble out the door but not before we indulge in the final course – delicious brownies and ice-cream!
