The Prohibition era: the 18th Century’s answer to the smoking ban, or worse, plastic cups in a London pub. From 1920, the United States suffered a ban on the sale, produce and importation of alcohol for several years, some would deem it ironic for a party full of eccentricity and delicious cocktails to celebrate history such as this. No qualms with irony over here, bring on the booze!
Oozing glamour and splendour, the Prohibition parties of today are renowned for the revival of feathers and floating dresses, the bob cut and the champagne. Hosted by one of our fave social’s, Bourne & Hollingsworth buildings, the party will take place in a ‘secret East London hideaway’.
Ogle over elaborate costumes, dance the Charleston and indulge in a spot of old fashioned gambling. Better still, take part in a ‘pre-party’ cocktail making master class and set the night in full swing. After the excitement of Easter and the consumption of a LOT of cheap chocolate, this event will re-instil a bit of class, albeit a small dose of historical corruption alongside.
NB. No bootlegged booze, just 21st century honesty.
