Summer is a a very long, long way away, but theres nothing like fresh seafood to bring back to life those sunnier days and carefree feelings.
We were lucky enough to review Bouillabaisse last week, who’s point of difference is that they bring fresh and sustainable fish and seafood into the heart of Mayfair.
The venue itself is set nicely down secluded Mill Street. Inside, Bouillabaisse is split across two floors with the interior combining a chic mix of textures such as: distressed wood, copper, and brass details, with white washed walls to draw on seafaring cultures from around the world.
We were seated inside a comfortable leather, oval shaped booth for two – which was most like our little boat for the night.
The feast kicked off with a plate of Hebridean langoustine and wild seabass carpaccio, which was garnished with basil, piquillo peppers and wild rocket, as well as this we also sampled some of the very fluffy snow crab cakes with garlic herbs and salsa.
For the main event we dined on a ginormous skate wing for two, which came with smokey garlic fries and buttery spinach – wow!
Finally for the last course we opted for a magnificent Andora Noire 70% Chocolate cake which was deadly rich and came with a ball of homemade vanilla ice cream.
Throughout the meal we sampled some really light, organic wines which were a supremly matched course by course and towards the end the meal we finished with a twist on the classic – a Coffee Negroni.
Serving the most beautiful fish dishes up from breakfast to dinner, Bouillabaisse is a fantastic date spot or even ideal for a business lunch; its the perfect spot to get a tranquil taste of the sea in the heart of London.
