BOBBY FITZPATRICK: Bottomless brunch for the retro lover.

BOBBY FITZPATRICK: Bottomless brunch for the retro lover.

Bottomless brunches are forever a joy. Eggs, Fizz and Friends – what’s not to love?

We visited Bobby Fitzpatrick last Saturday, and it lived up to our brunchin’ expectations, with the added allure of seventies swag. Situated in West Hampstead, Bobby’s is an ode to your Grandma’s home… which is a good thing!

The space feels as though you’ve entered a time machine. The walls are adorned with old copies of Nova magazine, black and white polaroids and hanging plates – remember when people did that?!

The main bar is a tangerine dream; retro patterned wallpaper and luminous strobe lighting across the bar are a welcome burst of colour. Woven plant bowls and canteen style chairs add to the retro feel.

The hue lifts as you enter the sunflower tiled kitchen with yellow cabinets, magnolia spice jars and tinned food that must’ve discontinued before we were born. Whilst great to pop in, we’re not sure we’d sit and drink next to an out of date box of Corn Flakes all night.

The space downstairs becomes sultry with royal green velveteen seating, plush carpets and a kitsch conservatory area drenched in plantage, the spider plant prominent, a staple in any 1970s home.

We could go on about the decor all day, it’s the centre of our attention. But best to mention the food too…

With the option of pancakes or pizza on the menu, we had to try both. All pizza options were equally tempting, we decided on the Huevos Rancheros – egg on pizza is a winner in our books. Other options include the Bacon, Spinach and Hollandaise and the classic Ham and Pineapple; love it or hate it, it’s always on the menu!

Next, we opted for Sweet Buttermilk Pancakes topped with Pecan, Bacon and Maple Syrup, recommended by our waitress. They were devoured in minutes with an extra helping of maple syrup.

There are three bottomless cocktail options. The cocktail menu is predominantly rum based however the Bobby’s Spritzer – white wine, lime and Ting – features as a brunch option for good measure.

Bobby Fitzpatrick is now open for Bottomless Brunch on weekends.
The bottomless Cocktails are £18 per person.
