The wonderful bhuti (Sanskrit, for “wellbeing”) in Richmond is the perfect haven for tired minds and bodies to indulge in some much needed TLC after a hectic period or a much needed treat. The luxury spa was set up by a local mum, Sama, a qualified yoga teacher and hotelier who wanted to help create a place to escape to, recuperate and relax – bhuti certainly ticks that box!
Relaxing vibe aside there’s so much more on offer; hi-tec holistic spa treatments, more than 35 weekly expert-led yoga, pilates, meditation and fitness classes for all levels and Sama and her team of teachers and instructors including Katy Appleton, Emma Hicks and Chris James are always on hand to inspire, motivate and lend wisdom. Plus, there’s complementary therapies, events, workshops, an organic vegan kitchen and an ethically curated ‘bhuti shop’ with local producers including Richard E Grant’s fragrance – Jack Perfume, Yoga wear brands such as ILU, No Balls and Salt yoga, accessories, and Wanderlust jewellery.
With over 50 holistic treatments to choose from too, there’s something for everyones tranquil needs and the therapists are trained to work miracles on your mind, body and soul. We decided it was time for us to book in some ‘me time’ and used the bank holiday weekend to take advantage and give our tired winter faces some attention as we hit summer. We booked the signature glow facial a 75 minute treatment that promised to leave us refreshed and ‘glowing’.
After a quick consultation with our therapist, Saffron discussing what we would like to achieve from the treatment and a general chat about wellbeing and what the facial specialises in, Saffron began working her magic using Oskia products. The brand isn’t one we’d used before but have to say it’s left a lasting impression, we learnt that it is an award winning British brand that is also natural (so no need for chemicals to give us perfect skin)! Needless to say the 75 minutes flew by and before we knew it we were done. We felt totally zen and our face was noticeably illuminating – success rate 100%. Impressed we couldn’t resist buying one of the miraculous creams in the hope we can maintain the same effects at home – that is until our next visit.
bhuti also offers memberships for like-minded souls who want to share the journey on a yearly or monthly basis. This includes an annual well-being consultation with a qualified complementary therapist, free events and classes. Members including Fearne Cotton and Jessie Wood, are also treated to tasters, drop-in classes and a relaxation room with a tranquil, beautiful courtyard.
Sign is up – we can’t wait for our next trip!!
