We love an excuse to get together with friends to watch the awards shows after all they are never without drama. Who will take the big awards and who will make a political statement in their speech this year? Will there be tears (probably), who will be caught off guard and who will steal the show from the winners Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield we’re looking at you!
With the BAFTA’s just gone and Oscars fast approaching, there’s certainly some great contenders this year to be rooting for, we’ve asked our friends at thebar.com for some special cocktail recipes for the night to cater for all our emotions.

The Smirnoff Bloody Mary with All the Trimmings is the perfect pick me up for the early hours
200ml Smirnoff No. 21® Vodka
1tsp Tabasco Sauce
2tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1tsp Celery Salt
0.5tsp Black Pepper
2tsp Horseradish Sauce
4tbsp Cranberry Sauce
1piece(s) Packet Dry Stuffing Mix
1piece(s) Turkey Skin
How to make…
Add ice to a jug.
Half fill a jug with cubes of ice.
Add in Smirnoff No.21 Vodka, tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, celery salt, pepper, horseradish sauce.
Pour in 200ml Smirnoff No.21 Vodka, 600ml tomato juice, the juice of half a lemon, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp Tabasco, 1 tsp celery salt, ½ tsp black pepper and 2 tsp horseradish sauce, then mix.
Dip glasses in the cranberry sauce and the stuffing mix.
Place 4 tbsp cranberry sauce on a small plate, and the dry stuffing mix on another plate. Take 4 glasses and dip the rim into the sauce, one after the other. Then dip into the stuffing mix so it forms a large rim on the glass.
Garnish with pieces of crisp turkey skin.
Fry turkey skin pieces in hot oil for 2–3 minutes until crispy. Pat dry and leave to cool on kitchen paper. Season with salt and place a piece inside each glass to garnish.
Here’s some useful tips on how to host the ultimate award season party from thebar.com when considering your tipple choices.

#2 Add your favourite fruit to personalise your cocktail
#3 With a Mojito you can switch the soda water with ginger ale for extra zing
